Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, are back!

One of my favorite TV shows as a little kid is back! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned, and worry not old fans, its great!

The new opening pays homage to the old intro while keep it updated for kids, love the CGI which I know some have complained about. Also what I really like that each turtle looks different! Like in the old series if it wasn't for the bandannas each turtle looked exactly the same. I like spotting each turtles subtle differences.

I have also read the original voice that did Raphael is now doing Donatello's voice I thought something sounded familiar, it throws me off a little bit but its no big deal, glad they brought back an oldie for the new series. Also you will be glad to know that the people working on this series are fans of the Turtles, and the old 80's cartoon, so far in my opinion this show has done great justice to the TMNT franchise. Plus it has already been renewed for a 2nd season!

This is one of the few shows I look forward to watching with my kid and actually enjoy

Turtle Power!.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is quickly becoming one of my favorite in the series.

Well I decided to dust off the ole Metal Gear Solid HD Collection the other night and start Peace Walker. Really digging this game. It has a very Metal Gear Solid 3 feel to it, which is my favorite of the series. I love Big Boss's story and in this game you help gather troops and build up the famous Outer Heaven!

This game was built for the PSP and you can tell be some of the short missions, which I kind of like, cause I feel i can accomplish something and not have to invest in hours just to make it to the next part. One of the reasons I liked MGS 3 so much was the sneaking around in the jungle which this goes back to.

After seeing the video and teasers for Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes made me want to play this game which I you take control of a slightly older Big Boss. So i figured I better brush up on Peace Walker before Ground Zeroes comes out!

The new game look gorgeous!

Mass Effect Trilogy Announced

One of my favorite game trilogies is getting released as well... a trilogy!

Mass Effect even though with it controversial ending is still one of my favorite SciFi series in a long time. Glad to see that some can pick it up and enjoy the whole thing in one crazy long marathon.

Also new to the PlayStation 3 crowd the original Mass Effect will be coming to the PS3 for the first time and have trophy support as well. Only Mass Effect 2 & 3 were previously released on the PlayStation 3.

The 3 pack id due out on November 6th for Xbox 360 and PC. Those wanting to get it on the PS3 will have to wait a little longer, no date has been announced at this time. You will be able to snag all three games for the price of one game at $59.99. Pretty good deal for all the content in this game if you ask me!

Also get ready for N7 day, as Bio ware has declared November 7th as N7 day! Myself I plan on constructing a Commander Shepard armor out of cardboard and pulling an all night marathon while wearing and playing the games.

Ain't No Rest For The Wicked...

Borderlands 2 is out, NOW! So what are you waiting for?

Well I had a blast playing the first Borderlands, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the squeal! Well I may have to wait a while. I still need to finish the first. I started playing it, solo, and had to stop. This game is meant for Co-Op well my lonely looser self couldn't ever find or talk someone into playing this game. Finally I may have someone and some other interested in playing. They are supposed to get it in time for the weekend.

After we finish Borderlands, we will see if it hooks us enough to play the second one. If like RPS elements, and tons of guns and Co-Op this is your game! Until then check out the trailer.

Back Catalog Gaming Action: Grand Theft Auto IV

"Cousin, why have you not finished GTA IV? All the BIG american teetees you have been missing in this game."

Just like ole Roman has said I never finished Grand Theft Auto IV. Actually I barely started it all. Seems like something else came out and I dropped this game for another. Nothing is currently out so I got to thinking about what games I need to go back to. Then it hit me, I never finished Grand Theft Auto IV and the two major DLC packs they released. Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Well dang if that won't keep me busy!

First I head down to Gamestop, grab a used copy of Grand Theft Auto IV for $22 bucks on my lunch break then head back to work. Then I come to find out there is a complete edition that includes all the DLC and the game for only $30 brand freaking new! So after work I head back to Gamestop to take back the game and just get the complete version, brand new and with the DLC which would be much cheaper than downloading it.

Finally I get to sink my teeth into some good Grand Theft Auto senseless violence. I am not to far in the game only playing here and there running a few missions at a time. This game is soooo big. There is way to much to do, but that is a good thing, as long as it doesn't get stale I will be busy with this game for a while!

First Sunday with NFL Sunday Ticket

I am Hooked!

Every game at my finger tips of the ole trusty PS3 controller. It was great! I watched  a game here and I watched a game there. One game gets out of hand and looses interest, boom I find another one that is close. The only down side I found to this was some games were blacked out. But that meant my local broadcast stations were playing them I just had to turn on regular TV. Only a small downside in my opinion.

Also getting the Red Zone channel included was an added bonus. It's like football for people with ADD! The Red Zone channel covers all teams with no blackouts. If your not familiar with the Red Zone channel, basically when a team enters the 20 yard line or less of the opposing team that is what is called the red zone. This is when the Red Zone channel kicks in and they take you to that game so you can see if they score or not. Then once a team finishes or is no longer in the Red Zone they move on to another team, or if no other team in in the Red Zone, they begin to show highlights from across the league. Pretty cool channel overall.

Riding off into the sunset... not just yet!

Well I dusted off an old favorite this labor day weekend.

Saturday I got to looking around in my back catalog for something to revisit. I hold on to some of my favorites for chances to go back to them. I like to go back and earn achievements.

Well it had been 2 years since I was in New Austin and visited it locals. It was nice to be back. I finished up some odd jobs, took on some bounties, and saved a few damsels in distress. I forgot how big this game was. Even made a trip down to ole Mexico, to help some strangers out of a jam.

I still have some other things to get done, I need to hunt some grizzly bears, and pick off a few more buffalo, and hunt some more animals to earn a few more achievements that are pretty attainable. There are also a good amount of online achievements, never been a fan of those since they usually require lots of time, plus other people can be tuff to deal with in the online arena.

After playing this again makes me hope that Rockstar makes a Red Dead Redemption 2. Love playing in the old west and this game was so much fun. Give us more please!

NFL Sunday Ticket!

Looks like the NFL is set to return on the PlayStation, and a little cheaper this year at $299 for every Sunday game the entire season.

Well as a big football fan here in the underground basement, I am pretty sure I am going to give the NFL Sunday ticket a go around this year. The idea of being able to watch my favorite teams, and watch games my fantasy players are playing really appeals to me.

If you watch a a lot, and I mean, a lot of football I feel its really worth the price, plus they break it into 4 easy payments of $75 so your not hit with a $300 credit card bill all at once.

I at first thought, hey just head down to Buffalo Wild Wings, get food, and watch the games. Then I quickly realized, like I am going to spend every Sunday down there? Just about all day too? Plus I am sure I would order food and it's not like you can hear the broadcast very well on the games, since they have all the games going, and people talking. So this Sunday ticket on the PlayStation is just right for me!

"PS3 owners without access to DIRECTV will also be able to receive NFL Sunday Ticket and live stream every out-of-market NFL football game this season for $299.95."

Confirmed over at the official PlayStation blog.

My Team Draft Results

Meet The Bounty Hunters!

Well I got the QB I wanted Aaron Rodgers. Missed out on the Wide Receiver I wanted though. I really wanted to pick up Calvin Johnson aka Megatron. But Ole Tom Brady, I am sure he will hit Wes Welker just enough too.

My Running Backs, I got two decent ones, nothing I'm to excited about.

I also got 2 Quarterback's on the bench that I need to let go of one. Probably gonna drop Flacco.

On my Defense i got the mighty Baltimore team. I know Ray Lewis is getting older, but they still have a stud defense in Baltimore.

I'm ready for week one!!

2012 Fantasy Football Upcoming Draft

Today we have a topic a little different than video games, but hey its still a game. Its that time of year, were talking about some Football! Fantasy Football that is!

For the last few years I been heading up a Fantasy Football League as commissioner. We started about 3 years ago on yahoo fantasy sports. It's been a blast, it really gets you into to football, following players and stats and your favorite teams.

This year things are a little different. Since our newbs are now seasoned vets, I can finally talk them into playing for some cold hard cash! Well were not talking huge money here, only $20 a team. But we have a 12 man league, up from a 8 man league from last year. So that will make a pretty good pot for the winners to take home. Everyone is pretty excited and ready to step up their game since money is on the line this year.

So tonight is our big night, in our league, tonight is DRAFT NIGHT! Tonight some of us from the league have decided to meet up, at a local restaurant and the others, who our out of towners, will be draft from the comfort of their home. This year we are trying out a new drafty system, were doing a auction style draft, where each team gets a budget of $200 to bid on players. We did a mock draft and everyone loved it, no one want to go back to the old way.

Well hopefully I get some good players in tonight's draft and I will be sure to post my roster when I have it set!

Good luck out there other Fantasy Football players!

Grand Theft Auto V: Looks gooooooood!

Exhibit Sexiness A

Grant Theft Auto V, is looking better and better each time we get a little tiny morsel to drool over!

I have always been a fan of this series ever since the old days when the game was just an overhead top down version. I really enjoyed GTAIV story, and I look forward to see where the guys from Rockstar take us next. From the looks at these new screen shots, we will enjoy the ride!

A new rumor has also popped up that these screen shots look too good for current generation consoles, and maybe this will be out for next generation. Which would put the game way off another year or so. To me that seems to far away. I don't think they would be leaking screenshots and showing that trailer if it wasnt remotely close to coming out.

My guess is, I look for GTAV to be hitting shelves and consoles next spring, maybe around March/April at worst May of 2013.

Until then enjoy the sexiness!

DAYZ: DON'T get to the choppa!

This is one of the things that I love about DayZ. Your battling zombies, on the run... and whats that,  oh my, yes! We're saved! Air support has arrived.... so you think!

Don't get into chopper 1524, manned by two guys in  ghillie suits. As this poor soul find out, he is then trasnported to "Schadenfreude Island." I quite little place, just one catch,  its 14 kilometers off shore, and NO re-spwan buttons!

The video is pretty funny, and serves as a good warning to others playing the game, don't always be so quick to trust strangers.

Just one of the many reasons here in the underground basement as to why we love DayZ.

NEWS POST: Counter Strike:GO beta is live... GO GO GO!

All you Counter Strike lovers out there, CS:GO is a go!

As you know Like the previous games in the series, Global Offensive is an objective based multiplayer first person shooter. Each player joins either the Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist team and attempts to complete objectives or eliminate the enemy team. The game operates in short rounds that end when all players on one side are dead or an objective is completed. Once a player dies they must wait until the round ends to respawn in most game modes. Players purchase weapons and equipment at the beginning of every round with money awarded based on their performance. Completing objectives or killing enemies earns the player money while negative actions, like killing a teammate or hostage, takes money away from the player. In addition, when a round ends all players receive some amount of money, with players on the winning team receiving substantially more.

So what are you waiting for... get in the beta, cause Trapper will be looking for you through his cross hairs from the Underground Basement!

My first 3DS game purchase.

Well looks like it's an ole Mario game gets to be my first 3DS purchase. Been a long time since I played any Mario game at all. I had good many suggestions on what games to get, but one that keep coming up, for 3DS tittle was Super Mario Land 3D. Plus since New Super Mario Bros 2 isn't out yet and as you can see I got it for decent, not great, used price, but still better than full price!

Super Mario Bros 3 & Super Mario World were probably my all time favorite Super Mario titles. Loved chasing Bowser and those crazy Koopa Kids. Since then I'm pretty sure that was the last Mario Bros game I have played!

I will have some off time tomorrow to try it out, hence the new game purchase right away. So after I log a couple hours I'll be sure to share what its like to revisit Mario and Luigi.

GAME ON!

A shrine to the Underground Collection

Well here is a little shot of my corner of the Underground basement, just got this installed last night. Finally a place to hold my games, and some of m collectibles.

First up, the game section! Top row we have PS3 Games. With notable favorites Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, and Grand Truismo 5!

The shelf below holds the Xbox 360 games. With notable favorites such as, the Mass Effect Trilogy, Alan Wake, Batman Arkham City, and Red Dead Redemption.

Up top here we have some minor collectibles. First you see my statue of Darth Malgus from Star Wars: The Old Republic. In front of him we see a Luke Skywalker, A New Hope replica Light Saber.

Above that The Batpod! From the collectors edition of The Dark Knight. Behind that  you can see a replica Bat-rang from the collector's edition of Batman Arkham Asylum.

Then on the very top, my collectors edition box from Star Wars The Old Republic.

A full view of all the glory! And I'm sure much more to add later!

My New/slightly used 3DS!

Its new to me!

Well fellow gamers here is the new handheld gaming device I snatched up! My fellow co-worker says hes gonna trade in his son's 3DS at gamestop. Hoping he would at least get $50 bucks for it! I told him, for $50 bucks I may take it off his hands at the price. Then I said maybe you shouldn't tempt me. To make things worse he has it with him and brings it to me to check out. I keep thinking ehhhhh for $50 bucks why not! So I figure leave it to fate to decide. If i have $50 in my wallet sold if not, pass. Well of course me who never has cash, looks in my wallet and boom $50 exactly! So i tell my co-worker I guess you just sold it!

Plus I figure if I get sick of it i'll just trade it in. The trade in value on these I believe is about $75-100 so I can't complain about the deal!

Now I just need to find something to play on my new 3DS, enjoy the video its kind of quick and dirty but I wanted everyone to see my latest score!

Back Catalog Gaming Action: Mirror's Edge

Well fellow gamers, I have taken a break from Hunting those Metal Gear Solid 4 trophies, and turned my attention to an older game that I over looked, Mirror's Edge.

Friday I had a Dentist appointment, oh boy! Luckily it was just a teeth cleaning no cavities! So then it was on to my lunch, hopped over to Subway grabbed a foot long. With time to spare and Gamestop right next door, I figured well I better stop in! Sometimes games that interest me I purposely wait to play them. Some reasoning is, other high profile games are out at the moment, or I know this certain game will eventually be cheaper, or I'll need something to play during the lulls of a good higher profile release.

So there on the shelf in the used section, waiting for me to play like an old friend. I notice Mirror's Edge. I am recently reminded that EA finally announced a sequel will be made to this game. Well what better time than now to pick it up! Oh and best part is, its only $13.00!

So most of my weekend was spent playing this gem of a game off and on. Had a blast, the free running is awesome! Plus just a warning though playing this on a big screen is fun, but if you get motion sickness, the no on screen HUD can really mess with you! haha But I enjoyed it. Jumping up walls, running on ledges, evading "Blues" aka cops.

A game like this needs support and to grow a fanbase, if your sick of the same old same, give this a try! Plus its way cheap right now!

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Trophy Patch is Now LIVE!

"Old" Snake sets his sights on that platinum trophy!

After all these years, finally. Sing it from the heavens, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy patch is here!

I know what I am doing when I get home. This is one of my all time favorite games and I can't wait to revisit the modern classic.

I am at a loss for words, I just began to think it would never happen. From my previous posts you know how I feel what makes this game great. But here it is, thank you Kojima!

I am excited to hear what Kojima has planned for us in the future. Old Snake was supposed to rest for good after his last outing. But with the rumors of Metal Gear Solid 5, I wonder does Old Snake make a return? Or do we find a new hero to take the mantle. I find it hard to play a Metal Gear game without Snake. So even though some want him to rest, I'm all for one more adventure with Solid Snake!

Take that! Platinum Trophy!

Now I got some work to do tonight, and so do you! Go get that Platinum Trophy, Snake would, why wont you?

News Post: Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Patch Incoming

Like the title says!

Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy Patch incoming this August!

Not sure of the exact date but will keep you readers informed. I have beena  huge fan of the Metal Gear Solid series. Love the over complicated plot and the "Tactical Espionage Action" Nothing more fullfilling than sneaking up on an enemy and taking them out with CQC or your trusty knife. Then of course you cant leave the body laying out in the open now can you! Shoot you better pull that body into the bushes and hide it before someone sees you. I love the series for the fact its more than just run and gun. Kojima who created the Metal Gear series you can tell love games an wanted to put more into them than just another same ole shooter.

I love a good reason to go back and replay old gamer for Trophies/Achievements. For me they give me something to work towards after finishing a game and present an new challenge than just beating the game. And nothing feels great like earning the Platinum Trophy you get after getting all other trophies in the game. Just a little extra icing on the cake!

If you haven't experienced the Metal Gear Solid franchise yet, and want to try something other than the every day shooter, go get the HD collection. Its for PlayStation and Xbox. My favorite of the series is Metal Gear Solid 3 and its really what got me hooked on these games and honestly cause this game take place in the past, in the timeline to the other games you should really play it first.

I know what I'll by playing this August, a trip down memory lane to one of my favorite early PS3 releases that hit right before the famous trophy patch came out. Sneak out and...

Aftermath of the Steam Sale :)

Well it felt like this!

Well I survived anther famous Steam Summer Sale with money still left in my wallet!

Valve did not dissapoint! so many games on sale. Community voting sales, Flash sales, daily specials! Truly a very gamer Christmas in July.

One thing I would like to touch on was one of my last purchases of the sale. Come to find out one of my friends who is an avid PC gamer, and has yet to some how not enjoy Arkham Asylum... Yeah I know. Plus he is a huge fan of Batman The Animated Series. So guess what goes on sale the last day for a measly $6.29 I love that Steam has the option to gift games. So I knew exactly what I was buying for my buddy.

He was very excited! He had no excuse now to enjoy one of my favorite games. About one of my favorite comic book characters.

I almost got him a double gift, Alan Wake was up for community vote, and I would have gotten that too. He said I want to play, but it scares me. hehe I knew if I would gift it to him he would have finally played it too. Well I don't blame him it gave me the chills to. Alan Wake though turned out to be another one of my favorites. sadly it didnt get voted in on the last day. So maybe another time!

I really enjoyed this years Summer Sale and look forward to the next. Until next time gamers, the glow of the TV is on in the underground basement late at night and as always...

My Dark Knight Rises Adventure!

Well I managed to climb out of the ole Underground Basement last night for a little Dark Knight movie marathon! It was great, walked into Batman Begins at 6:00pm left the theater after The Dark Knight rises at 3:00am It was 9 hours of Batman and it was glorious! Then a good 45 min drive home since thats where the nearest IMAX theater is.

It was pretty cool to see the previous movies again on the big IMAX screen then see the final one. The Trilogy really does come full circle. If you even remotely love batman this movie is for you.

I had to solo the first two movies by myself, and then at midnight my cousin joined me for the big premiere.

After the movie we got some cool swag, I nice Bane small poster, and a much larger poster of all three Dark Knight movies on one sheet. Pretty dang cool!

I'll roll it out later and take some pics!

Luckily I asked off for half a day from a month ago a head of time, so i got some rest and didn't have to go in until 11:00. So the day wasn't so bad for being out until 4:00am

Believe the hype, enjoyed the movie, lots of surprises and a great ending to the Nolan/Bale Batman verse.

It's simple go see this movie!

Steam Summer Sale... Round 2!

Well the ole steam summer sale is now in pretty much full swing of things. Boy has my wallet taken a beating! We got games, and deals, and deals, and more deals on deals! lol

Here we go the first purchase i made at the ole bargain basement price was Mirror's Edge. In this game your a free runner. The First person aspects are pretty dang sweet, playing this bad boy on the Underground Big Screen, well lets just say if you get motion sickness easily this game is not for you. hehe I started the game and had a blast but then my attention went to the next game I purchased...

An oldie, but another goodie, Grand Theft Auto IV, hey at $4.99 I had to revisit my old Russian friend on the PC.

The last purchase I made was Just Cause 2. Now I haven't got to start it yet, but I remember playing the original, it was like you were El Mariachi from Desperado, but working for the government as a Mexican super spy! This game if it turns out like the original, will be to much fun. The open world of running and gunning, parachuting and grappling! Oh my! Again as you can probably tell I have fond memories of the original so looking forward to getting back into the world of Just Cause 2.

If you made any purchases in the Steam Sale, be sure to sound off in our comment section below. Maybe you have a game that the Underground Basement needs to check out? Some how maybe i missed it? haha Be sure to let me know! And as always...

Game one!

Steam Summer Sale Is ON!

Can't believe I haven't yet talked about this! Best part in this hot ole summer time weather. The Steam Summer sale! Deals Deals and more Deals are to be had!

First I would like to say Valve is such a  great company, they have proved that you can give gamers great reasonable deals on games and the will buy them.

Currently I have purchased 2 game so far, mostly cause my hermit of a self usually already has the game when they first come out. hehe That and i tend to console game more than i PC game. Made two purchases today. First was the PSN game "Heist." I tried it out and dang if this is not fun, gotta talk some of my buddies into getting this game. You and 4 others, or AI as needed pretty much rob a bank. You have objectives to do while you make your way to the safe, then you gotta make you escape! I played the first job and it was a blast! for $4.99 off the regular price of 19.99 this was a steal!

Return to an Oldie But a Goodie!

Well as you can Trapper is back in his underground basement posting up about some of these great games that he plays and his adventures along the way!

Recently I have started playing a series that I hadn't shown much love too. Assassin's Creed. I played the original when it came out, but got burned out on it was to repetitive. Decided to revisit part II just as of last week. Its been a fun return for sure! I am trying to just keep to the main story so as not to get into a rut. So long as the story stays interesting i'll keep playing. I like all the little extras they have added since the original, upgrading weapons, armors, etc. Kinda keeps things fresh. I probably will stay away from alot of the side missions so i can finish the game and move on to AC:Brotherhood!

Its still pretty early in the game and i tend to play other games in the process to as not to get burned out so fast. I also need to finish Borderlands in time for its sequel cause I got some co-op buddies wanting to go at it when B2 goes live.

It feels good to be back talking to you gamers out there and letting you know the the Underground Basement Trapper is alive and gaming!

The Light is still on in the basement...

Been over a year since I posted, contemplating a return to the bloggers world and sharing my adventures from the underground basement...
